Details
- Shortly before the Second World War broke out, both the Jewish Agency and Palestinian Arab leaders declared their support of the Allies and violence subsided in a political truce; Jewish and Arab battalions were formed in Palestine, the Jewish units ultimately forming a Jewish Brigade (Origins and Evolution of the Palestine Problem: 1917-1947 (Part I), lines 1169-1171).
- In the study’s account of February 1947, the Zionist Organization was fortified by well equipped forces “with the Jewish Brigade providing the nucleus”, alongside new large-scale immigration, legal and illegal, and powerful foreign support (lines 1315-1321).
