Summary
The resolutions of the Arab summit conference of 1 September 1967, whose third paragraph commits the Arab States to united political efforts to secure Israeli withdrawal from the Arab lands occupied since 5 June 1967 within the principles of no peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with it, and insistence on the rights of the Palestinian people in their own country (The Khartoum Resolutions (1 September 1967), lines 1-82).
Details
- The conference affirmed the unity of Arab ranks and joint action and the Arab Solidarity Charter signed at the third Arab summit conference in Casablanca, and agreed to consolidate all efforts to eliminate the effects of the aggression on the basis that the occupied lands are Arab lands and the burden of regaining them falls on all the Arab States (The Khartoum Resolutions (1 September 1967)).
- Oil pumping, whose suspension the Arab Ministers of Finance, Economy and Oil had recommended as a weapon, was instead resumed as a positive Arab weapon to strengthen the economies of the States directly affected by the aggression; Kuwait’s plan for an Arab Economic and Social Development Fund was approved; measures to strengthen military preparation were agreed; and the elimination of foreign bases in the Arab States was to be expedited (The Khartoum Resolutions (1 September 1967)).
- The file gives no attendance list, signatories or vote figures, and does not name the occupied lands.
