Details

  • Her father’s family, from Silat ad-Dhahr, is split between Jordan, Kuwait, the United States and Palestine after leaving in 1967; she asked: “How do I safely go to the homeland? And be able to see it and experience it?” (PDF p.248-249).
  • Her witnessing is a witnessing for: “A big part of this trip was being in Palestine for other people” — for her father, who opposed the trip, and her partner from Gaza, who cannot go back (PDF p.250).
  • After hours of interrogation at the airport the delegation left without her, and the tour bus later drove through Silat ad-Dhahr without stopping: “I would have loved to stop in my village, for, you know, just like five minutes” (PDF p.251-252).
