Summary

The post-war Peace Conference — called the Peace Congress in the Faisal-Weizmann Agreement — before which the parties to that agreement pledged joint action, and to which the Zionist Organization submitted its draft resolutions of 3 February 1919 for the disposition of Palestine (Faisal-Weizmann Agreement (1919), lines 83-109; Statement of the Zionist Organization regarding Palestine, lines 79-83).

Details

  • Under Article II of the Faisal-Weizmann Agreement, the definite boundaries between the Arab State and Palestine were to be determined by a commission immediately following the completion of the Conference’s deliberations; under Article VIII the parties were to act in complete accord before the Peace Congress in all matters in the agreement (lines 83-85, 107-109).
  • The Zionist Organization’s statement is headed “Proposals to be presented to the Peace Conference”, and asks it to recognise the Jewish historic title, vest Palestine’s sovereign possession in the League of Nations with Britain as Mandatory, and secure equal rights for Jews who remain in other countries, Palestine being unable to hold more than a proportion of world Jewry (Statement of the Zionist Organization regarding Palestine, lines 79-87, 135).
