Details
- On the day enemies usurp part of Moslem land, Jihad becomes the individual duty of every Moslem; in face of the usurpation of Palestine it is compulsory that its banner be raised, which requires diffusing Islamic consciousness and instilling the spirit of Jihad in the heart of the nation (Article Fifteen, lines 212-224).
- Nationalism in the Covenant’s view makes resisting and quelling the enemy the individual duty of every Moslem, male or female, a woman being able to go out to fight without her husband’s permission (Article Twelve, lines 172-180).
- Jihad is not confined to carrying arms: the effective word, the good article, the useful book, support and solidarity, with sincere purpose, are elements of the Jihad for Allah’s sake, and whoever mobilises or supports a fighter is himself a fighter (Article Thirty, lines 364-372).
- The Covenant’s chain of struggle runs through the Jihad operations of the Muslim Brotherhood in 1968 and after (Article Seven, lines 118-132).
