Summary
The leader under whom, in the The Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement’s testimony of history, the Moslems defeated the Crusaders and liberated Palestine, and the model for confronting the present Zionist invasion (The Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement, lines 412-428).
Details
- The Crusaders were defeated only when the Moslems stood under their religious banner, united their word and surged out fighting under the leadership of Salah ed-Din al-Ayyubi; they fought for almost twenty years and at the end the Crusaders were defeated and Palestine was liberated (Article Thirty-Four, lines 412-422).
- The Covenant views seriously the defeat of the Crusaders at his hands and the rescuing of Palestine from them, alongside the defeat of the Tatars at Ein Galot, and draws lessons and examples from both (Article Thirty-Five, lines 424-428).
- The ideological invasion that paved the way for the loss of Palestine is traced to the period after his defeat of the Crusaders: General Guru is quoted standing at his grave, “We have returned, O Salah el-Din” (Article Fifteen, lines 212-224).
