Summary

In the PFLP’s Strategy, scientific socialism is the working class’s theory: it renders the working class conscious of its exploitation and its role, and the political party organization armed with it is the highest form for organizing and mobilizing workers and peasants (Strategy for the Liberation of Palestine, PDF p.61-63).

Details

  • Scientific socialist theory clarifies and scientifically explains the working class’s misery and exploitation by imperialism and capitalism, indicates the nature of the major conflict on international and local levels, explains the motion of history, and defines the working class’s role and weapons, permitting the mobilization of its forces on the greatest scale (PDF p.61-62).
  • Political organization armed with this theory is confirmed, in the Strategy’s account, by the experiences of China, Vietnam, Cuba and the October Revolution; Palestinian and Arab national movements failed against imperialism, Zionism, Israel and reaction because they did not adopt it (PDF p.61-62).
  • The Palestinian petit bourgeoisie in its majority will not enter a party framework armed with scientific socialist theory, so the complete organizational form pairs that party — mobilizing workers and peasants — with a national front allying them to the petit bourgeoisie (PDF p.63).
  • The strategy, positions, theory and nature of organization of the revolution should be those of the working class (PDF p.53).

Strategy for the Liberation of Palestine, Socialism, People’s Liberation War

  • The Strategy’s organizational sections identify the theory more fully as Marxism-Leninism, adopted by the Front as a basic strategic line for building the party and to be understood as a working guide, not a fixed rigid doctrine (PDF p.111-118).
