Summary
The 2010 Pardon Law exempting persons convicted in relation to opposition to the 2005 Gaza disengagement plan from legal sanction, in a Description-only entry in Discriminatory Laws Database (lines 1997-2033).
Details
- Enacted 25 January 2010; it applies provided the person has not received a prison sentence, expands the Attorney General’s early amnesty, and provides for charges to be dropped and offences deleted from criminal records at the offender’s request (lines 2009-2015).
- The entry says a separate process for disengagement demonstrators discriminates on ideological grounds, and that on 23 February 2012 the Supreme Court rejected a petition calling for the law’s cancellation, HCJ 1213/10 (lines 2017-2033).
